Quickstart
Five steps from installing the app to a cart your shoppers can see. Nothing here is irreversible — the cart can be switched off at any point without uninstalling.
1. Turn the cart on
Go to Online Store → Themes → Customize → App embeds and switch Smart Cart - Sofcy on, then Save. Full detail: Turn the cart on.
2. Open the cart builder
In the app, go to Carts and open your cart. This is where you add modules and change how the drawer looks. See The cart builder.
3. Add a module or two
A cart with nothing in it still works — it shows the shopper's items, a subtotal and a checkout button. Modules add to that. Good first choices:
- Rewards bar — "spend £15 more for free shipping", and the discount to back it.
- Product upsell — a few relevant products under the cart lines.
- Trust badges — the reassurance shoppers look for before paying.
4. Match your theme
Open Design and run Match my theme. It samples your storefront's colours and typeface so the drawer looks like part of your shop rather than a bolted-on app. See Design and theme match.
5. Publish
Open Publish from the cart builder. It lists exactly what will change and, if you configured rewards, names the discount it will create in Shopify. Press publish and the cart is live.
Until you publish, nothing you have done is visible to shoppers. If the drawer does not appear afterwards, Troubleshooting tells you which of the two switches is missing.
What to do next
- Set display rules so a module only appears when it should.
- Check Analytics once shoppers have used it.
- Keep a copy to experiment on — your plan includes four duplicate carts, with one live at a time.
